A meeting of the State Securities Board was held on June 18, 2026, in the Kinney Conference Room, Thomas Jefferson Rusk State Office Building, at 10:30 a.m. Those present were: E. Wally Kinney, Chair; Robert Belt, Member; Melissa Tyroch, Member; Ejike E. Opka II, Member; David B. Montgomery, Member; Cristi Ramón Ochoa, Deputy Commissioner; Jeramy E. Heintz, Director - Legal, Enforcement Division; Rani Sabban, Director - Investigations, Enforcement Division; Brian Shepherd, Assistant General Counsel; Misty Smith, Assistant Director, Staff Services Division; Matthew Bacon, Staff Attorney, General Counsel Division; Kathryn Miner, Legal Assistant, Enforcement Division; and Bryan Voon, Cybersecurity Analyst, Staff Services.
Chair Kinney called the meeting to order at 10:33 a.m.
The Board retired to executive session at 10:34 a.m. to deliberate the appointment of a new Securities Commissioner pursuant to Section 551.074 of the Texas Government Code.
Following the executive session, the Board reconvened the open meeting at 11:25 a.m.
The Board voted to select and appoint Jeramy E. Heintz as the new Securities Commissioner to begin serving no earlier than June 18, 2026.
The meeting was then adjourned at 11:33 a.m.
